Residence in Heraklion

The location of this residence in Heraklion, is in the suburbs of the city. Moreover, the plot has many olive trees whilst enjoying at the same time a spectacular view. The design of this single family house took in mind this breathtaking view towards the Cretan sea. The amazing view of the house though is towards the north orientation. In other words, the positioning of functional exterior spaces is hard due to strong winds. Therefore, the choice of a second point of reference to the south was crucial. Not only for the large courtyard but for the swimming pool as well. Meanwhile, in the interior, the houses’ atmosphere is defined by a sense of openness thanks to its layout. Finally, the abundant natural light airiness created by the houses’ large openings towards both north and south define the living experience in the residence.
